Hello digital friends,

I was thinking tonight that it is strange that I would have a blog that is devoted to thoughts for prayer and not invite my digital friends to email me with prayers of their own. So, I thought I would do that. If there is a thought that you would like me to pray for, I’d be honored to do so. It could be an existential dilemna, or your Aunt Sally’s knee surgery. It might be gratitude or lament, descriptive or vague. You might know me very well, or perhaps you heard from a friend that I pray for people. Either way your prayer is a gift. I do realize that by responding you’ll expose yourself to the entire world, but this also means that the whole world can pray for you along with me. And, feel free to tell others, I’d be happy to pray for/with them as well.

In the Beginning

In the beginning God created the heavens and the earth…. and everything that resulted since, every molecule, every person, every thing created was created as a gift. In the beginning God created. Everything else builds on God’s gift.

God is the only one who can give from nothing.

All that I give must first be recieved. Oh, that I would have the courage to recieve and from this reception freely give, freely create, freely live. May it be.
